Storyline Trigger : Submit multiple choice
Hello,
I have a quiz module that is made by 5 different quizzes (organized as questions bank) specifically designed for various roles across the organization. To generate them I import the questions from a file into Storyline. Once insde the storyfile, I have to deactivate the submit default button of the player to use my customised button on each slide. The problem is that for every question I have to manually set the trigger which is a waste of time and it implies also a possible risk of human error.
Is it possible to add a functionality to apply the submit trigger automatically in a set of slides?
Thanks
andrea

Hi AndreaBrigan762,
Thanks for sharing this workflow detail. I understand how manually assigning submit triggers after importing quiz questions from Excel could become very time-consuming, especially across multiple question banks and role-specific quizzes.
I also appreciate everyone sharing suggestions and workarounds here. AndrewBlemings-’ template/master slide approach may help in some workflows, and JudyNollet’s AI suggestion could be a useful workaround for repetitive edits.
As PhilMayor mentioned, graded questions may still submit correctly even when the trigger appears unassigned, though automating trigger setup after Excel imports would still help streamline the workflow and reduce manual effort.
I’ve shared your feedback with our product team so they can track interest in improving this workflow. We’ll be sure to update this discussion if we have any news to share in the future.

If you have a submit trigger on a graded question it will submit even if it shows as unassigned

AndreaBrigan762: I just saw this post about asking AI to do a repetitive task. That could be an option for this type of editing.
If you try it, I'd suggest making a copy of your file first, just in case.

If I understand right, the best solution is to resolve that as "upstream" as possible. When you say the questions are imported from a file, I assume that's from another Storyline project, and if so, the triggers and buttons should be fixed there before importing into the final quiz project.
Maybe this also gets at how your slides are created, but when I know I'm going to have to duplicate a slide, I try to really nail down everything in one pseudo-template so that when the slide is duplicated, such as from a master slide, all of those layer properties and triggers are already in place. Is there an opportunity to lean on a master slide?

HI, no. The issue happens while importing from a excel file
sorry I didn't specify that
