Submit results trigger

HI, I'm rebuilding an old course, which has four short quizzes through it, and a final results screen. The course has been copied, and loads of adjustments made. One of which is to put all the four results slides into a separate scene, which is linked from the end of the relevant quiz, and sends the users back where they should be afterwards. I can't see why it wouldn't work, but, when I test the course, I have got to the first quiz, run it, and the quiz works, sends me to the results screen, which says I have scored zero, despite having successfully answered the questions.

I'm guessing that the submit trigger works for the questions, but the result slide isn't referencing the correct results variables. As there are a few of these in there, I'm looking for a way to see which variable is associated to each submit trigger. All it says is submit results, but not which variable. (These are the 'results score points' things that I think are variables I'm talking about).

Is there a way to find out quickly where the result feed to? I can't find it!!

  • You can set the name for a quiz in the Quiz Settings of the Results slide.

That lets you verify that each Results slide is referring to the appropriate variables.

Also, be sure you verify in Quiz Settings which questions are included in the quiz. By default, a when you insert a Results slide, it includes all the graded question slides in the same scene. If that's not what you want, you have to manually adjust the settings.

Note: When you insert a new Results slide, Storyline creates the needed variables. If you copy-and-paste, duplicate, or import a Results slide, the connection to the variables can break. In the past, the solution was to insert a new Results slide. Now, just renaming the Results in Quiz Settings usually fixes the problem.
