Text boxes with scrolling - Storyline

Hi.

I have experienced some issues with text boxes after updating storyline.

For some reason I suddenly get scrollable text boxes in the preview (and in the LMS - see images below). However, when I'm in edit mode they look fine. I have to keep making the text boxes or the button larger to get it to not display this way.

Happens with different types of fonts as well. I'm editing an old project.
I've checked that my display in windows and in storyline is at 100%.

Anyone know the reason for this?

  • Yes, it doesn't come up as an option anymore, so probably already done. I can however see that if I deselect "display accesible fonts" the issues seems to disappear. Not sure what this actually does? I do think that we don't have many cases where it's needed, but I guess it's always good to have accessible formatting.

What might be the reason for storyline to use scrolling in the boxes for accesiblity? (i've tried changing the format of the box and telling to overflow rather than adding scroll bars, but that did nothing).

  • Hi Linn,

Here's an article which explains the accessibility behavior that you're experiencing:

The article also offers a helpful suggestion to get around the scroll bars, which is to increase the height of the text box to account for differences in spacing across browsers

    Hope this helps!
