Text on Images

Hi,

Is there a hack so that I can add an image with a heading that still adheres to accessibility standards?  Here's what I'm considering: I want to use the flashcards in Rise to offer detailed feedback about test questions and add the distractor or option text on the image that prompts the learner to flip the card and read the feedback. 

Or do I not need to do that? Can I just add the image, no text on the image, add an alt tag of the option text, "Try one more fad diet," and then the learner flips the card for the feedback text?

Make sense? What do you think, accessibility gurus?
