Text to Speech Syncing Issue
Hi everyone,
Having an issue where TTS audio ends up out of sync after a slide is paused for a while (anywhere over about 10 seconds). Video, animations etc. will start again instantly but the TTS has about a 1 second delay which causes it to be out of sync with the rest of the slide. This happens on all slides regardless of what other objects are on the slide. If you pause and play quickly, the issue doesn't happen.
Has anyone experienced this and are there any fixes?
Thanks!

Can you share a slide?
Is everything on the base layer? Does the audio play automatically or is it triggered?

any update? i'm facing same thing. audio starts with a delay, have tried every possible hack, starting audio with 0.5 second, put trigger to play pause reach timeline but nothing works. let me know if you found a solution,, PS i have also downgraded to 2025 update of storyline but no luck.
Hi ChrisAU, thanks for flagging this, and thanks PallavSaxena-a9 for chiming in as well.
A delay in Text-to-Speech audio after pausing a slide isn’t expected behavior, especially when the rest of the slide timeline resumes immediately. The fact that this happens after longer pauses and across different slides, and that trigger-based workarounds and version changes haven’t helped, suggests this is something we should take a closer look at.
At this point, the best next step would be to open a support case so the team can investigate further. If possible, please include:
- A sample Storyline file where the issue can be reproduced
- The Storyline version you’re using
- Whether this occurs in Preview, Review 360, and/or LMS output
That will allow a support engineer to test the timing behavior directly and determine whether this is a known limitation or something that needs deeper investigation.
Thanks again for calling this out, and for sharing the details you’ve already tested, that really helps move things forward.
