I updated Storyline due to the latest release. I then attempted to open a file I had been working on just previous to this release and now I receive the error message - "This project is invalid or...

Hi Chris and welcome to Heroes!
I'm sorry to hear about the difficulty you're having with your file. First you'll want to check the following which could have caused file corruption:
- Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
- You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
- Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
I'd also try opening a new Storyline project and import this older one into the blank project.

For anyone coming here with this problem, I was dealing with this exact error this morning with a project I was just working on last night. I tried Ashley's suggestion of importing the slides into a blank project, and that solved my problem. Phew!! That would've been hours of work lost.
