Unable to publish for LMS do to 'Proper Security Permissions'

This is a brand new issue that I've just run into today, and I'm wondering if anybody else has had the same issue.

When I try to publish to LMS, I'm getting the following message...

The SL file is on my Desktop and I'm trying to publish to SCORM 1.2, and right to my desktop. This is really weird. I've attached the course file if anybody has time to take a look or provide any insite.

  • I just had this happen to me. That same warning message appears if I try to publish a file that I copied to my laptop yesterday. However, I tested a few other files, and I can publish those.

    • I tried moving the unpublishable file to another folder. Still wouldn't publish.
    • I tried saving a copy and trying to publish that. The copy wouldn't publish either.
    • I tried quitting and relaunching SL. Still wouldn't publish.

    I'm going to submit a case (https://articulate.com/support/contact/360-teams ).

Update: I got error messages when I tried to attach my SL file to the case. I couldn't attach the image of the message, either. So here's the message I see when trying to publish, and the SL file is attached.

Another update: When I submitted the case, I got the following message

Thus, I don't know if all the info I provided got through or not.

The important note is this: The Storyline error message mentions the folder by name. But it's not showing the name of the selected folder. It's showing the Title in the project.

  •  I found your problem

rename "Gee Storyline..." to "Gee Storyline" ->  publish is working again

    the three dots prevent publish

Update: if you need the three dots - use "…" (three dots in one char)

      Thanks,  Jürgen! That did it.

My original title had a comma (Gee, Storyline...). It occurred to me the comma might be the issue, so I removed it. It obviously didn't occur to me that three periods weren't allowed.

in the past (until Storyline 3.69)  there were no problems with "..." or " " at the end of a title, because " - Storyline output" was always added before creating the folder. This is different now and that's why there are problems.

  • your problem is the last space in the title "ISA IC37 Module One "

rename "ISA IC37 Module One " to "ISA IC37 Module One"

this is a new bug in 3.70

from the release notes of Storyline

      November 29, 2022 (Build 3.70.29211.0)

Enhanced: We simplified the published output by removing Storyline output from the folder name.

with the "simplified" they created illegal windows folder names

  • thank you so much I too was tearing my hair out with this issue until I stumbled on this post and now it is publishing as expected.
