Using Text-to-Speech with Screen Recordings

What a coincidence, but I'm in the same place... I'm trying to demonstrate software steps through video but also want to use Text to Speech. Currently my first video is almost 83 seconds while the companion Text to Speech runs less than 57 seconds. I can add Silence to stretch the audio, but it is difficult to determine where to place those as the marker connecting the two progress bars does not actually move during preview and it is slow to Preview Slide every time I add a Silence clip.
