Videos: Auto Pause and Resume with Hotspot
Hi All!
I'm new here and working on a Rise module that will require some interactivity with a video. I believe I actually need to create this interactive piece in StoryLine and then bring it into Rise, but if there's an easier way, let me know. ;)
Here's what I'm doing:
I have a video screen recording of somebody going through several steps in a process in a piece of software. When the video gets to a certain point, I want the video to automatically pause until the learner clicks on a hotspot (button in the video). When the learner clicks the hotspot, the video just resumes until it gets to the next button to be pushed. It then pauses again and waits for the learner to push the hotspot, and resumes.
I don't need any additional pop-ups or text.
This was really easy to do in Camtasia, so I'm assuming it's easy to do with triggers in StoryLine, once I learn the trick. I wasn't able to intuitively figure it out, though, and the video tutorial I watched didn't help either.
Any tips?

UPDATE:
I found the "Pause media" when "timeline reaches" trigger and added those everywhere I want the video to pause for the learner to click on a hotspot. Then I added rectangular hotspots over the buttons on the screen and added triggers to each one to "play media" when "user clicks". However, when I preview the video, it pauses earlier than it should (ie before the learner is prompted where to click). I reviewed the "control video with triggers" portion of the "Overview of Multimedia in Storyline 360" tutorial a million times, and I still can't figure out the best way to do this.
Hi JKeating,
Thanks for reaching out. It's a great idea to open a case as well!
I see you've connected with my teammate, Luiza. It seems that adding the timeline pause trigger for each pause point resolved the issue for you. I'm glad that you're all set.
If other related issues arise, let's continue the conversation in your support case to keep all the information in one place, but I'm happy to assist further as needed.

Hi Eric,
Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, I'm not all set. Adding the additional timeline pause triggers did not work. Lianne is now working on it. How do I continue the conversation in my support case? Do I have one? I've just been using online the support chat.
