Visited state not working
In the end, this is how a colleague of mine came to a solution:
- Add the image to the slide
- Resize to 250*250 deselecting the Lock aspect ratio option
- Change picture to shape ---> circle
- Add the states
- Repeat, just add the new text in the visited state before deleting the old cirlcle
- Change the triggers to open the layer when clicking on that new circle
Even if I understand where you're coming from, I do not believe this should happen, even if I copy and paste shapes and images repeatedly. Articulate should take a look at this bug and fix it in a near future, in order to avoid repeating the work.
Well, the fact that the objects can't be properly selected on the slide suggests that they became corrupted at some point during the editing process. If this issue doesn't bother you as much as it bothers me, you can go ahead and apply the fix that Judy suggested in her post.
To fully resolve the problem, I exported the original images from the Media Library, reimported back to the shapes, and recreated the Visited state with a white fill and the text inside it. After that, all objects could be selected and manipulated normally, without the confusion of not knowing which object was actually selected on the slide.
In the end, these things happen to everyone, especially when we're under time pressure and rushing through edits without paying close attention to how objects are being copied and pasted repeatedly.

I'm glad you were able to fix it.
Although I don't really see how this solution was different from what was suggested earlier in the attached file (changing the picture to a shape with a picture fill, along with the visited state fix Judy suggested). Other states and triggers were already working just fine. Still, I'm actually glad you didn't just adapt the proposed solution. Instead, you took the time to work through the problem yourself and came up with the fix on your own.
That's a much better learning experience. Next time, you'll know exactly what to do and where things went wrong the first time. Congrats!
