Hi Dean! Someone else may have a better answer but the player controls for Storyline user guide indicates that this is an "it is what it is" situation and is intentional: "The volume controller won't display on tablets and smartphones since they have their own volume buttons." From a user experience perspective, I imagine most users would expect to increase or decrease the volume using their device buttons.
