Where does storyline store information about where to resume the course?

There are several old threads of conversation covering this topic.  I would like to know how things work presently.  Is Storyline v3.55.25975.0 storyline the data about where to resume a course as a cookie in the browser?

    Hi Liz!

    Great question! The HTML version uses what’s called the HTML5 Web Storage API, specifically a property called localStorage instead of a traditional browser cookie. HTML5 Web Storage API holds more data than the traditional browser cookie.
