I understand that the emphasis animation isn't working properly in your project file. Thanks for sharing a copy of your project file, I tested it and observed the same behavior. I was able to resolve it by recreating the group that you were trying to animate. Please take a look at Slide 1.2 of the this file where you'll see that the animation now works, even when a text box is present in the slide. I couldn't pinpoint an exact reason for why the animation initially did not work, but here are a few tips to minimize the risk of running into data corruption, if this played a factor in causing the animation to misbehave.
