Wipe Animation, text link issue
Hi all
not sure if this thread is still active but I also have this issue with underlined text displaying first in any paragraph if I apply the animation Wipe from top by paragraph. The underlined text always displays first regardless of where in the line or on what line it is positioned within the paragraph. This has been going on consistently for quite some time and it is getting rather annoying to say the least.
Hi Julie!
I'm so sorry to hear you've also been affected by this issue!
I don't have any updates to share at this time as our development team has been prioritizing other fixes, but I've included you in the bug report. We'll be sure to update this discussion as soon as a fix is in place.
In the meantime, for your reference, here's a deeper look at how we tackle bugs.
Thank you for your patience. I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!

I'm experiencing the same thing. Well, two similar things, really.
The main issue is that, when I have hyperlinked text and am animating with a Wipe by paragraph, the hyperlink (text and underline) wipes in and then the rest of the paragraph just appears once the wipe finishes.
Similarly, with underlined, non-linked text, the underline itself wipes in and then the rest of the paragraph (including the underlined text) just appears.
Everything looks fine when wiping As One Object (which I will resort to if I have to, but someone will likely note the inconsistency).

Thanks for sharing that, JeremyKauffman1, I can see how this would be frustrating, especially when it throws off the flow of your animations.
This lines up with a known issue where Wipe by paragraph doesn’t handle underlined or linked text correctly, causing parts to animate separately.
You’re right that switching to “As One Object” works around it, though I understand that’s not ideal if you’re trying to keep animations consistent across your project.
Our team is aware of this behavior and is still looking into it. I’ve added your example as well, since it helps show how this is affecting both hyperlinked and underlined text in different ways.
In the meantime, using “As One Object” or separating the text into individual elements are the most reliable workarounds, though I understand that may not be the most ideal from a workflow perspective.
If you have a moment, could you also share which version of Storyline you’re using? That will help us update the report with the latest details.
