Hey allennation-602,
I completely understand why this has been frustrating. Especially when Storyline's messaging suggests a connectivity problem, even though the underlying issue may be related to SSML itself.
I can confirm that we have this behavior logged as a bug in Storyline. This bug causes:
- Invalid SSML markup for Text-to-Speech can trigger a misleading "Unable to connect to the internet" error
In these cases, Storyline should specify that there's a problem with the SSML syntax rather than suggesting a network issue. I've included your voice in this report, so we can notify you as soon as a fix is in place.
I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!
