Zipping multiple LMS modules

I have a host of videos that I have placed in Storyline 360 modules to track completion in our LMS. Unfortunately, I got in the rhythm of creating and publishing the modules without zipping them. My question is, can I go back and zip all the modules I created in one swoop? Or, do I have to go back into each module, republish it, and select Zip after it is published?

  • You don't have to republish the modules.

You do have to separately zip the published files for each module.

The important thing to remember about that is to zip everything that's within the published folder -- but don't include that top-level folder.

This may help. It's a screenshot of some instructions for zipping a course. The current file structure is a bit different, but the steps are the same.

Then, of course, you've got to save the zip file.

Thanks for the information. I would like to get some clarification. I noticed when I zip a module using Storyline, everything gets zipped (including top level folder). Is there a reason why you shouldn't zip the top level folder when using another zip program?

I don't see the behavior you're seeing. I just unzipped a course that Storyline had zipped, and the top-level folder, i.e., the one with the course title, was not included. (The course title was used as the file name for the .zip file.)

It's my understanding that it's an LMS requirement to not include the top-level folder. And in all my years of publishing with Storyline (1, 2, 3, & 360), I never have.
