Hello all,
My name is George and I reside on the sunny Gold Coast Australia.
After a 35 year career as an airline captain, I now focus on instructional design, and leverage SL360 heavily.
I am engaged by an Australian private registered training organisation (RTO).
The Aussie VET sector is unique, being controlled by the Federal Govt. ... Who ever thought that was a good idea?
As such it is bound by red tape.
Various industry peak bodies and high level stakeholders submit information the the Jobs and Skill Councils (JSC).
The JSC then design training packages which contain qualifications and unit of competency.
Those packages are approved by the Dept of Employment and Workplace Relation (DEWR).
3rd parties and RTO's may then develop courses according to the rules laid down in the Training Package Organising Framework.
The RTO's can then deliver these, but is regularly audited by the Aust. Skills Quality Authority, to ensure they meet the Standards for RTO 2026.
Why mention this?
Simply - there is not yet any AI tool that can take a unit of competency (as published) and write a robust course and compliant assessment, for it!
The upside ... I have a job, for a while yet!
