Make Yourself Known

Hey everyone! 👋 I’m Destery, and I manage a ragtag group of Learning Experience Designers in the Midwest paradise that is Iowa. 😁

My eLearning story started around 2013 when I got my hands on Storyline. I built something with it, wowed a hiring committee, and landed my first eLearning developer job. And the rest is history 🙃.

Why so serious all the time .... this guy.

These days, I focus on all things learning technology. That includes AI, vibe coding, immersive learning, and seeing how far I can push tools like Rise and Storyline. I like building things, trying weird ideas, breaking a few things, and sharing what I learn along the way.

This year was my first time presenting at Articuland in Florida, and I had a blast. It is such an amazing community of people. Talking with the Articulate team made me feel a bit like I was in the room where it happens.

You may also know me as Destery1Kenobi, so Star Wars references are always welcome.

Mostly, I just love hanging out with cool people, in cool places, doing cool things.

That’s why I’m here.

Cool place, check!
Cool people, check!
Cool things? I believe we will!
