One idea for you: I attended an ATD chapter meeting where we had 4 different software products (Storyline, Captivate, iSpring, and Camtasia) represented with 4 different people. Each had their laptop hooked to a projector so we could see what they were doing. They were all given the same assets and requirements at the beginning, and had to build the course while we watched. There was a moderator who interviewed them for their thought process. It was pretty fascinating. You wouldn't do different software, but could do this with a few people using Storyline and us watching. 

OR you could do the same thing with members in the audience competing over a fixed time, then share their results to Review for everyone to see.
