Q&A: Frontline
Frontline looks useful for letting subject-matter experts create training without losing L&D oversight 👍. How much control does L&D have over templates, branding, review/approval workflows, and updating content after it’s been published?

Hi JhoneBruce, thanks for asking this.
For review and approval, Frontline doesn’t have a built in workflow, so steps like requesting, reviewing, and approving before publishing happen outside of it. Creators currently hold publishing permission, as Kelly noted in her answer on governance.
Right now only the creator can view their content and share it with their team through Quick Share or a PDF, as Kelly explained in her reply on workflows and visibility. Commenting and Kit Collaboration are listed for Frontline on our public feature roadmap, though I don’t have dates to share.
For branding, Frontline includes shared brands that can be used across all content in a subscription. Templates are a different story, there isn’t currently a way for L&D to set up approved templates for Frontline creators.
For updating after publishing, with Live Updates enabled, edits show up in the shared artifact as soon as they’re made. You can also update content in bulk by chatting with AI and choose Confirm all, Review changes, or Reject all, which is covered in Bulk Updating Content in Frontline. Snapshots are manual, so they’re worth saving before bigger changes.
Please reach out again anytime if anything’s still unclear!
