Update variables from excel file

I managed to use javascript and power automate to export storyline variables to an excel file.
However, i have no idea how to do the reverse. How do i import variables from an excel file into...
Honestly I have been waiting for this feature for a long, long time..
I did find a way of copying variables from one project to another...i.e. simply bringing in slides that refer to those variables and then deleting the unwanted slide...
