In Public Beta: Survey Block
Hi everyone! We’re excited to share a couple of new Survey Block updates in Labs.
LMS support: You can now use Survey Block with LMS-published courses, making it easier to collect learner feedback. Survey responses are included in your LMS reporting data, so you can review them alongside other learner activity for the course.
Multiple choice items: We’ve added multiple choice and multiple response items, so you have even more flexibility when creating surveys.
Please try these updates out and share your feedback with us. We’d love to hear how Survey Block is working for you and what you’d like to see next!
I'm exploring the use of Rise to create a digital workbook. I understand this post has a different focus, but it appears this new Survey Block may help us achieve some of our workbook objectives. It also provides you with a use case for this type of block.
Specifically, I'd like to know whether it can support the following:
- Allow learners to write and save their reflections within the workbook so they can return to them later.
- Allow learners to download or export their workbook responses for their personal records.
- While access to learner responses could provide valuable insights, we have committed to maintaining learner privacy and confidentiality. Is there a way to configure the survey data so that responses are visible only to the individual learner and not to course authors, administrators, or other reviewers?
To support this use case, it would also be helpful if the Submit button label could be customized to Save. The term Submit may imply that responses are being sent to an instructor or reviewer, whereas Save more accurately reflects a private workbook experience where learners are capturing reflections for their own use.
If it can't support the use case, please consider the ability to edit the submit button label.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
Hi NelsonValdez,
Thank you for the suggestions!
Currently, this level of functionality and customization is not supported by Survey Blocks. I've shared your feedback with our product team so they can consider these enhancements for future updates.
