Shape what’s next: How could Nova better support your work?
As you experiment with Nova, this is the place to tell us what’s working, what feels unclear, and what you’d like to see next.
Your feedback could be about:
- A specific feature or capability
- A real-world use case you wish Nova supported
- A friction point you ran into while trying something
- Whether the credits felt worthwhile for the result
- An idea that would make Nova more practical or useful in your workflow
Share what’s on your mind, whether it’s a small improvement, a big idea, a question, or a reflection on where Nova did or did not fit your work.
Comment below through October 23. Sharing feedback here completes the Influence action, one of the three actions needed to earn Nova Expedition recognition.

Katie-Jordan Happy to share where Nova has landed for me! 😊
What’s working: AI Avatars were a regular part of my builds until I ran out of credits. I’ve used them as coaches, guides, and even as the “employee” in a performance review course (hi Ava Tar 👋). Custom character prompts give me a consistent cast, bracket pause tags like [pause for 1 second] make delivery feel more natural, and being able to download a still alongside the video means I get character portraits for my Code Block interactions too. That one’s a sneaky favorite.
Friction point: Credits. I build a lot for weekly challenges, and I ran through mine faster than expected. When a video has an awkward ending or one mispronounced word, the only fix is regenerating the whole thing, which costs credits all over again. A low cost preview mode and showing the credit cost before I hit generate would go a long way.
What would make it more practical (straight from Ava Tar’s performance review 📋):
✂️ Edit after the video is done. Sometimes the avatar keeps talking at the end with no dialog. A simple trim tool would fix this without starting over.
👥 Two avatars in one video. Real conversations and scenarios instead of a single presenter.
🔁 Fix one line. Regenerate a single sentence instead of the whole video, saving time and credits.
🗣️ Voice control. Previews sound natural but final output can come out flat. Pace, pauses, emphasis, and tone controls, plus a pronunciation fix for acronyms, drug names, and company terms.
🙌 Gesture and motion settings. A simple slider from calm to expressive for hand motions and background movement.
👄 Lip sync fixes. Even a basic resync button would help.
🏢 Shared team avatar library. Approved avatars and voices everyone on a large team can pull from to keep branding consistent.
📜 Interactive transcript in the player. Better accessibility, and learners can skim or jump to a spot.Big thanks for opening this up for feedback! 😍

Hi All,
While I love the AI Avatar feature, we would run out of credits with just 100 videos. They cost a lot less when we were first "testing" them. Some of us are non-profit and will never be able to use these features again once we run out of the 100,000 credits awarded to us this year. Please consider a reduced cost in credits for non-profit organizations.- SMcNicolCommunity Member
BelleHabs Katie-Jordan I’m right there with you. 💙 I pay for my own subscription, so when my credits ran out, I made the call not to buy more for videos. It’s a bummer, because I really do love the AI Avatar feature.
I’d love to see a reduced credit rate for nonprofits and individual members too. The people building and sharing the most in this community often have the smallest budgets.
In the meantime, here’s how I’m stretching things:
🖼️ Stills plus AI audio: I use still images of my avatar character, pair them with AI audio, and let the words type out on screen. It keeps the personality without draining the credit balance.
🎬 Synthesia’s basic plan: gives you about 500 credits a month free (10 mins of video). Not a lot, but it’s something!
🎥 Camtasia’s Audiate AI Avatar: if you already have Audiate AI, it’s another option worth trying.
Thanks for speaking up on this. Hopefully Articulate is listening. 🤞

Some other avenues I've used to create short "AI avatar" video clips (since my Articulate credits are spent).
Adobe Firefly (which gives you access to various video-generation models and based on your model and settings, shows you how much you'll burn in credits to generate the clip).
CanvaAI (my credits/tokens burn quickly here too).
But, neither of these tools are as focused as NOVA's AI Avatar generations (meaning, built for eLearning). So for me, they are a last resort. Plus, these tools are not L&D licenses. The licenses belong to our marcom team; we just piggyback.

I recently shared my experience creating a course teaser using Nova's AI Avatar feature, and I was really impressed with the results! It definitely opened up some exciting possibilities for our e-learning programs.
After experimenting with the feature, I have two suggestions that I think could make the experience even better.
- More control over avatar gestures and expressions
While the natural hand gestures, body movements, and lip-sync were impressive, I'd love to have more control over these elements. For example, being able to specify when the avatar should smile, emphasize a point with a hand gesture, or change their expression to match the tone of the message would be fantastic!
This would give us more flexibility to personalize videos for different learning audiences and purposes.
- More flexibility in managing Nova credits
I understand that certain Nova features require credits and that additional credits may need to be purchased. However, once credits are available in our account, is there an option to turn credit usage on or off?
For example, when I'm ready to generate a video, I could enable credit usage. But when I'm experimenting with prompts, exploring ideas, or testing different approaches, I'd like to avoid accidentally consuming credits.
Alternatively, a confirmation message showing how many credits will be deducted before proceeding would be helpful. Having this flexibility would make it easier to experiment confidently while managing our purchased credits.
If this functionality already exists, I'd love to know where to find it and how to use it! If not, I think it would be a valuable enhancement to consider.
Overall, I'm excited about Nova's potential and look forward to seeing how the feature continues to evolve. Thanks to the Articulate team for inviting our feedback!
Hey hfalearning,
Thanks for the feedback on how we can improve AI Avatars and the credit system in Articulate.
Right now, there isn’t an option to turn credit use on or off while experimenting, or to see and confirm the credit cost before generating a video.
Also, I can see the value in having more control over an avatar’s gestures and expressions. In the meantime, you may want to explore AI Avatars version 4, which is our most expressive version yet. This version supports audio tags for added emotion and direction, along with more than 90 languages.
That said, we'll be sure to notify you if we release a future enhancement that helps!

In a perfect world, it would be great to have more than one avatar on the screen. I like the idea of two avatars for scenarios, such as how to handle difficult customers or interacting with an employee that needs assistance. Right now, I have my workaround of creating multiple scenes, which can be a great way of explaining interactions one at a time, but having a scene would be amazing 😀!

BryanPechtl,
Your scenario example was awesome!! That must have cost you a lot of credits though. I agree having characters who can interact in a scene would be amazing.

I attended Articuland in Orlando and walked away with so much excitement and knowledge and have used the credits to create a video with an avatar of the team mascot for an introduction to a Step up program! My team is excited about the abilities I can now use in Articulate with Nova and Frontline!

It was great to experiment with the Avatar feature on Rise. It would be a great to have a way to edit different scenes within the Avatar generated. I found instances where I wish i could use the Avatar to set the scene for a scenario. It would be more engaging to be create scenes within the same Avatar clip.

I've been really impressed with Nova so far, especially the video generation and translation capabilities. Being able to quickly create presenter-style videos adds a whole new level of engagement to microlearning, and the translation feature has the potential to save countless hours when creating multilingual learning experiences. I'm also excited about the AI Tutor in Rise 360. The ability for learners to ask questions and receive support in the moment can make learning more personalized, interactive, and accessible. Together, these features have the potential to make training more impactful while significantly reducing development time. I'm looking forward to seeing how Nova continues to evolve and support even more real-world learning and development needs. 🚀

Nonetheless, I wanted to share how the localization/translation feature with NOVA likely saved me up to (at least) two weeks of back-and-forth Spanish translation review/edit/review with my internal Spanish-speaking experts.
Instead of 14+ days, we were able to (while facing a tight deadline) get the course translated, validated, and published in about 3 days (and, it was only THAT long because of my expert's schedule).
My only callout, the translation/localization for a course that was not complex, ate up all of my team's credits. As you can imagine, this created an issue, especially since my manager wanted to use NOVA features in the project she was working on at the time.

I'm repeating myself from the Nova Expedition channel, but it'd be cool if the Training Deck part of Nova could export to an actual slide deck. This would enable designers and developers to better create and distribute printed materials and offline content.

In this example, I wanted to let the broccoli named Broc, talk about the secret life of cats, while the cat is asleep. But I can't get the broccoli to talk, it's the cat talking. And sleeping, at the same time. Cute.. but I'd like a more scripted version of the action taking place, not just making the avatar and writing the text to speech. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
