ELC 561: Dine-O Dash
Dine-O Dash (still in development 😄)

Hello all! Happy weekend! Dropping in for this week's challenge! Out of the gate, I admit two things: 1. This is still in development, I am still piecing together the real 3D dining room scene for the character graphics to fit in properly, and 2. I wouldn't exactly call this a professional waiter training 😂
One thing I enjoy is looking online to see what people build with AI, and am constantly amazed at people's creativity. I have been seeing a lot of people making games recently, and started getting jealous! When this build started, it was 2D, and chip icon based, and was going to be more centered around an actual training experience, but I wanted characters with actual bodies that you could run around the kitchen with during the game. After some brainstorming with Claude on clean & efficient ways to do this with a level of customization, switching from human characters to "humanoid" 3D animated non-human characters would be a nice middle ground. So, about mid-week, the build shifted from "Waiter Rush" to "Dine-O Dash".
The fully-developed version should be live by the end of the weekend, so it may be done depending on when you check it out, but I am also planning on writing up the full workflow/process of building for this project too, which I am looking forward to. It's my first attempt at building a game, so admittedly the game-building piece ended up being more of the focus than the training piece, but I have had a lot of fun on this project!
A few outstanding items as I wrap up the project:
- Finish building & import 3D dining room scene
- import updated food item graphics
- Speed up game difficulty ramp, defined celebratory moment for level-ups/ "Promotions"
- A few more SFX (i.e. money cha-ching for tips)
- Swap out the remaining stand-in dev assets (drop-off zone, text callout cards at the bottom) for thematic customs
- Update mini-character evolution ladder on waiter selection screen with icons that match the hero image style
- Increased focus/rigidity during the tutorial
- More!
Thank you all so much for checking it out, and looking forward to others' work this week! Like I mentioned, it's my first attempt at building a game so any & all feedback will be much appreciated! Have a wonderful weekend!

Trevor, what a cool demo! It was exciting to get to use both of my hands to carry orders, although this is where the game got more stressful :) That is a really neat "promotion" piece.
My only piece of feedback that might improve the experience is to move the "ready-to-pick-up" orders a little higher in the screen to make it less crowded (although it might make it even more challenging).
Very impressive job overall! I earned $67 in tips, wohoo!
