"Deal or No Deal" inspired mini game

Hi all.

I created a mini game based on the game show Deal or No Deal.

A user can answer 5 customizable questions, which provides a "token" for each correct answer. The game itself loads 16 briefcases, each of which contains a value of dollars between 1 dollar and 1 million.

-Each pick of the briefcase consumes a token.

-Briefcase value location changes each time the training is launched so they can't memorize where the million dollars is or tell their friends.

-Token counter in top right, values remaining on right hand side.

-2nd bank of 5 questions after the tokens are exhausted brings them back to the game.

-Users can walk away after any pick, every few picks they get a Banker Offer layer pop up with a % of the remaining dollars.

The project was very much a "Hey, can you do X?" type of ask, and I learned a lot during the process.

For instance, did you know that Storyline can't handle arrays with its JavaScript code blocks? You can build it and debug it in your IDE all you like; you've got to manually bake them in as "Set Value to value when timeline starts on this slide" type of triggers.

I didn't count the total amount of triggers in the main minigame but 100-150 is a guess.

Backgrounds and graphics made with Adobe Stock, Illustrator and the default assets in Articulate.

This is by far the most complex training I ever created, and it took quite a bit to troubleshoot all the buttons, interactions click-through possibilities.

Note the for the end:

-Please feel free to reuse, repurpose or otherwise learn from my project. I often come here for ideas, so I wanted to share back with the community. For the sake of clarity, the ONLY part of this project that would be anywhere close to Copyright protected is the name itself "Deal or No Deal" and the logo. Things "inspired" by are safe and white label.

  • MikeMoran-b452a, this is so cool! Thank you for sharing and congrats on such a complex build.

I checked out the preview and what I really appreciate about this project is how with the first five slides being true "templates" of different types of interactive quiz questions, this project really lends itself to repurposing to any content or subject matter. I find with some really complex and gamified builds, sometimes you get really cool results but sort of diminishing returns on where you would "re-use" the interactions across multiple subject matter areas, and that's not the case with this project. Super creative, super flexible.

Thanks again for your generosity in sharing!
