French Coffee Season 1 was just the beginning (and yes, Season 2 is coming! 😉). Now, I'm pouring my energy into a new passion project: an innovative way to learn Japanese! Every great journey starts with a first step, and ours begins with the foundation - the Hiragana.
Discover the 5 key Japanese vowels A-E-I-O-U with trilingual support (FR/EN/DE).
Your friendly virtual guide, Yuka, will be with you every step of the way!
Hi Katie-Jordan,
First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to share my project in your upcoming weekly newsletter. It is an honor and a real joy for me to be able to offer this work free of charge to the community and to everyone.“Learn hiragana with Yuka”

I created this trilingual module with two goals in mind:To make learning Japanese easier in a gradual and engaging way.
To offer gentle and stimulating cognitive training, particularly suited to exercising memory, visual recognition, and association skills.
How?
Using Storyline 360, I carefully structured each screen:Layers to guide users step by step and avoid cognitive overload.
Variables to reward each effort (sakura flowers) and maintain motivation.
A measured increase in difficulty, where each “episode” introduces a new family of characters, like chapters in an unfolding adventure.
The idea behind each module goes beyond simply memorizing hiragana. It also involves:
Training the memory to retain new symbols and their sounds.
Developing visual recognition by associating a shape (the character) with a sound, then with a concrete word.
Strengthening associative connections (symbol → sound → meaning) in a natural and repeated way, in a supportive and fun environment.
Each lesson is designed to be a step forward in both discovering Japanese and maintaining cognitive abilities, all in a structured, positive, and rewarding adventure.

This is such a fun series you are working Emmanuel_Kegler - thank you for sharing! I really like how you included the notepad pop-up for this one too.
Would you be willing to share a little more about the process that went into creating these? I think this is a really great model others could learn from!
We are going to share this is an upcoming ELH Weekly Newsletter, make sure you are subscribed if you want to see this in your inbox! 🎉
