- LorenaIslaCommunity MemberHola Josh, muy inspirador este ejemplo!! gracias
Tengo una pregunta, storyline permite que el alumno pueda escoger un personaje y poner su nombre para personalizar algunas instrucciones?
Desde ya gracias- JoshGoodswen-6fCommunity MemberSorry Lorena, I can't speak Spanish!
- ReneeBarber-408Community MemberHi Josh! Well done! I like how you can select a character at the beginning. Did you create a movie for both characters then use variables to display based on the user's selection?
- JoshGoodswen-6fCommunity MemberThanks Renee. Yeah, that's exactly what I did. Would have been nice to get a few more characters in there but I basically had to remake most of the graphics and videos for the second character so it wasn't worth the time. It would have really increased the file size too.
- CathySchmaltz-3Community MemberFor my own clarity, did you create one character video in entirety in Vyond, export it, and then separate out the video within different slides in Storyline? I'm just trying to visualize the creation of it. Very awesome!
- SarahAmbriatiCommunity MemberThis is outstanding! So interactive and a really nice adaptation to a course that I'm sure most of us have taken 1000 times over.
- JoshGoodswen-6fCommunity MemberGlad you like it Sarah! We're trying to create a self-directed learning culture at our workplace and the first step in that is making our mandatory training fun and engaging. If the staff enjoy their mandatory training on dry subjects then hopefully it will encourage them to seek out further training in subjects that interest them.
- JennyArvoCommunity MemberLooks great, Josh! We are new to using Storyline, out of curiosity about how many hours of development time did this take? Thanks!
- JoshGoodswen-6fCommunity MemberThanks Jenny. Hopefully this can inspire you! It's difficult to give an accurate timescale as I made this about a year ago and was working on other projects at the same time. If I was to work solely on this it would probably take about 3 weeks of development time.
- AlexandraBataguCommunity MemberHello Josh !
It looks very nice. How long did you take to create this e-learning ? - ErikRHuemerCommunity MemberAwesome!
- LorenaIslaCommunity MemberHello Josh, this example is very inspiring !! thanks I have a question. Storyline allows you to choose a character to interact and write a name, to customize some instructions? or both are made in Vyond? . Thanks in advance
- JoshGoodswen-6fCommunity MemberHi Lorena. The characters were created in Vyond but the interaction was made in Storyline. For the character select, clicking on a character at the start changes a variable, then that variable is checked on every slide which changes the state of the image/video to match the character chosen.
The name is similar. When a name is entered it sets the value of a variable to the entered text. Anytime the name is used it checks what the variable is and sets the text to match that.
- JohnToh-9a95b93Community MemberHi Josh, this is just WOW! great work and you've made compliance elearning fun!! One question, how did you show the correct graphic after you've identified the hazard, eg, the person holding 2 boxes, which is a wrong thing to do, to the correct way? thanks again for your wonderful work. Inspire me to do something similar for my next project.
- CorneliaNihPopeCommunity MemberI just love it! Good work and thanks for sharing with us!
