Allow inline monospace text formatting

Our team heavily teaches code in our courses, and there is currently no way to format code that is outside of a code block (such as a snippet of code being described mid-sentence). We need to have a way to format this code text to visually differentiate it from the rest of the sentence text (currently we highlight it with a gray background, but this is tedious and error-prone).

As an example, Slack does this well with their "code" button - ideally Rise would have a similar feature (though with black or customizable colors, not strictly red text).

  • Hi TSwenson85,

Thanks for taking the time to share this use case.

I understand the need for inline code formatting, especially for cases like you described where code appears mid-sentence. There isn’t currently a way to format code that appears within a sentence.

I’ve shared this with our product team so they’re aware of the need for a more flexible way to present inline code and better differentiate it from surrounding text.
