Greetings From the Cutting Edge
Hello! I'm Rick Wochoski and new(ish) to this community. Was a non-participating member some years ago. But have now decided to embrace Storyline and Rise and see what I can do with these creative tools. Feel free to reach out to me. Looking forward to learning together.

Welcome, welcome! We're so glad you're here! 🙌🏼
Thrilled to have an intro from you even if you're technically not completely new :)
What inspired you to start embracing Storyline and Rise in this moment? Shifts in your job or just a personal interest? Would love to hear about some of the projects you're working on as you get back into it!- RichardWochoskiCommunity Member
Thanks for the warm greeting! I'm a longtime copywriter/creative director who switched careers into eLearning about 8 years ago. At my past job, we had programmers who produced our courses in a proprietary development tool. Now that I'm between jobs, I thought I'd learn how the rest of the world creates courses. And maybe translate that into some sort of freelance work.
I'm currently learning the program on a Mac, using Parallel, with the Trial version of Articulate. Which means I have exactly 27 days to learn as much as possible, before needing to decide if it's worth paying for the whole package. No pressure!I'm hoping to couple the storytelling techniques that work so well in advertising with instructional design principles to create courses that are as compelling and entertaining as they are instructive.
BTW, do you happen to know if there are any groups/threads dedicated to those who are working on Macs? These Mac to Windows to Articulate interface challenges are driving me crazy!
RichardWochoski thank you for sharing this context! If there's anything in the next 23 days if I'm counting correctly 😅 I can do to support your learning during your trial let me know.
Your story of going from writing > instructional design reminds me of one of our superheroes, JudyNollet, who I know pivoted from technical writing!
Hmmm re: Mac to Windows, I can't think of any threads right off the top of my head but:- If you have a specific question about a functionality that's giving you trouble, I'd recommend posting it in our Discuss Articulate Products forum where our support team or other experienced peers can most easily find it & help you out
- If you're more interested in making some general connections with other folks in your situation to chat about best practices, that would be perfect to start a conversation in Exchange Best Practices about!
