Greetings from New York!

Hi Heroes! My name is Abigail Vettese and I'm a Learning Experience Designer focused on ethics, philosophy, and experiential aesthetics. I love designing branching scenarios and visually impactful, engaging courses. I recently attended my very first DevLearn where I won Best Soft Skills Solution for my project, The Agency Algorithm, an immersive course exploring the ethical implications of AI technologies. I'm hoping to connect with more folks in the industry who are interested in innovative approaches to adult learning. Happy to be here and to be inspired by you all! :) Feel free to check out some of my work here!

Congratulations on your achievement! After completing a UX design course, I’m fascinated by how instructional design applies user experience principles. I look forward to seeing the innovative ideas and engaging strategies you share.

Noele_Flowers I believe instructional and UX design share several important principles. Here are three that stand out:

        • User-focused design – Intentional research and analysis of users’ needs and behaviors help create engaging, effective products and solutions.
        • Feedback – Products and solutions that provide immediate, meaningful feedback through visual cues and notifications, guide users through tasks while enhancing understanding, motivation, and engagement.
        • Accessibility – Ensuring a positive experience for all users is challenging but essential. It broadens your user base, builds trust, and adds value.

Of course, there are many other principles worth discussing! What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts and the community’s perspectives on how instructional and UX design align or differ.

  • AbigailVettese so happy you are here! It was great meeting you at DevLearn. I love your work and can’t wait to explore ways you might share more of it in ELH!

A great place to start is by 1) posting in the share examples hub to highlight specific projects and 2) checking out the Weekly Challenges as a way to try out new skills with guided prompts.

It’s also an exciting time to join ELH because we just launched our End-of-Year Passport Challenge, where you can earn badges (and prizes!) for contributing to the community.

I'll reach out soon and we can discuss more opportunities to showcase your work, like we chatted about at DevLearn!
