Hello from North Carolina, USA

Hi! I'm Donna Wilson, owner of L&D Lighthouse, LLC. in North Carolina, USA. I started my business about a year ago to help other businesses reach their training and development goals. Prior to this, I designed E-Learning courses and managed the LMS for a restaurant chain with 800+ locations where I worked for over a decade. As far as Instructional Design goes, I'm largely self-taught, though I was lucky to have a few different mentors to provide feedback and tips along the way.

I'm not new to Rise 360, as I recreated my old company's outdated training library of around 75-100 courses in Rise over the course of about a year. However, I am brand new to Storyline 360, so I'll take all the help I can get!

I'm looking forward to getting involved in the community and growing my skills.

  • Welcome to the Community Donna_Wilson ; happy to have you here! Recreating over 100 courses in one year sounds like quite the undertaking!

If you're new to Storyline, we have this area with some trainings that may prove helpful as you're getting started; Storyline | Articulate - Community

I'd love to hear more about your work in the hospitality industry, working with 800+ locations must have been a really unique challenge!

Looking forward to seeing you around ELH, and please do reach out with any questions or requests.
    Best- Rachael

Thank you, Rachael_Silvano ! I appreciate the advice.

Working with that many locations was definitely a challenge. On the bright side, between half to 2/3 of those locations were franchise locations, so I worked directly with their training managers rather than the individual stores. On the downside, franchises often had different priorities or sometimes different products than the corporate stores. I had to be both very organized and very flexible with how I designed courses and managed the LMS to meet everyone's needs.
