This well-crafted interaction (an Articulate Guru Honorable Mention winner!) helps learners understand the deadly effects of the Ebola virus. Adjusting the slider makes it easy for learners to understand how Ebola fatality rates changed over time. And it’s effective because it lets learners interact directly with the data.
The links don't seem to open it for me (the same for some of the other entries), maybe server overload with people looking at them?
Either way, I would really like to see this in action. I'll keep trying!
Edit: It seems to work in Chrome but not IE for me.
Of all the winners, I think I like this one about the best. The other winners are really clever and look great, but I feel that this one's 'time to create' (relatively low) vs 'adult learner engagement' (quite high) vs 'time to access' (quite quick) is very good.
This one represents something that most clients that I deal with would be prepared to pay for as part of a larger initiative. Great example of a job aid/micro learning/part of an interactive infographic.
Nice work, 4pt.
Nice work, David. Including a map and highlighting the affected regions was a good idea. Also, positioning the map in-sync with the slider was another good idea.
Wow, this is a splendid example of elegant design! I love how you took that data and gave it a simple, yet effective visual. And that colour palette is spot on; I like that it reminds me of a "sci-fi" video game menu screen, very now and classic all that the same time. Excellent work!
