Rise: Mars Curiosity Rover

Learn how the Curiosity Rover is helping us study Mars in this demo. Be sure to check out the interactive model of the rover, which was created with the Storyline block in Rise. It's a great way to add custom interactions to the responsive content you create with Rise.

      All of the content was from the NASA site. The 3D rover is the only Storyline block.

    I love the way Rise now incorporates Storyline blocks. Always a fan of Mars! The first question kept coming up wrong for me though, even though I selected false, that Mars is not the third planet from the sun, it told me I was wrong. The answer said it was True!

    Still, well done!

    Such a terrific Rise example! The gifs (especially the cover photo) really add a lot of impact! Great job!

      Yeah, I like the way the GIFs look as cover images and in the gallery. I'll have to use them more often.

        I have a Giphy URL that I want to use as my RISE cover image, but I don't have the file. Can I use this type of media in my cover photo it only gives me the option to upload a cover photo?

      All of the assets came from the NASA site except the 3D rover interaction which is a Storyline block.

        HI Tom. Just want to confirm you are referring to the landing procedure as the only bit that is storyline block, right?

    That is some next-level stuff, Tom. Had me scratching my head on how you did things--like having the rover rotate slightly while exploring its cameras, etc. The rest of us will need to up our games to catch you!

      The 3D rotation was built in PowerPoint and then I imported into Storyline.It's actually pretty simple.

    great stuff!

    Was the block that showed different positions and features using a video to animate the rotations? I don't think it was Flash because I right-clicked and there was not a popup showing options that it was Flash or the options that come with a regular HTML page.

    Thanks for any info, I made something like that but used Flash, You made what I thought was now the impossible while using Storyline.

      The 3D rotation was actually created in PowerPoint and then I brought that into Storyline. I'll do a blog post on how I did it.
