Generate Captions
Follow these steps to generate closed captions for new or existing videos in your course.
For new videos:
- Insert a new video block by clicking Video in the blocks shortcut bar at the bottom, or go to Block Library > Multimedia > Video.
- Hover over the video block to open the left-hand design toolbar, then click Content (pencil icon).
- In the Edit Video panel, click Replace video (video camera icon).
- When the Course media modal opens, ensure the box for Generate captions with AI is checked. This is checked by default.
- Upload your video file by dragging and dropping or clicking choose file. AI Assistant supports MP4, MOV, and AVI formats.
AI Assistant automatically generates closed captions while your video file uploads. Avoid refreshing or closing the page until the captions are fully generated.

- In the Edit Video panel, click Manage captions (small CC icon).
- When the Manage Captions modal opens, click the Generate button.
