Articulate Localization: Manage Translation Usage
This article explains how to manage translation access and track translation usage for your team while using Articulate Localization.
Grant or Remove Translation Access
Account owners or account admins can grant or remove translation access from the Manage Team page. Seatholders with translation access can initiate translations in Rise 360 and Storyline 360. Seatholders without access can’t initiate translations but can use all other Localization features, including managing and publishing multi-language courses.
When you start a Localization trial, all seatholders are automatically granted translation access in Rise 360 and Storyline 360. If you purchase directly without a trial, however, seatholders aren’t automatically granted translation access. An admin or account owner can then decide whether to grant or remove seatholder translation access by following these steps:
- Launch the Manage Team page from your browser. Seatholders with translation access have a green circle with a check mark under the Localization column.
- Click the Manage Localization Access button to launch the window, as shown below.
- Select or deselect the checkbox beside the seatholder name, and then click Save to confirm.
Note: Newly added seatholders will not automatically have translation access even if they were previously part of the team.
Track Used Translations
Account owners or account admins can also view the team's translation usage and total purchased translations for the term. This information can be found in the Localization section of the Manage Subscription page.
For more detailed information, click Download usage report to get a CSV file with translation data for your team. The report includes:
- Author details: Name, email, and team group (if applicable)
- Course information: Course title and unique course ID
- Translation details: Source language, target language, and date/time
- Billing information: Shows if the translation counted against your total purchase (1 = billable) and the effective contract start date
- Authoring tool used: Rise 360 or Storyline 360
Note: Date/time reflects your system time zone setting.
