With the Storyline 360 media library, you can manage all of your project assets in one place. It keeps track of multimedia files so you can easily add, remove, and replace logos, characters, and other assets across your entire project in one fell swoop.

And it gets better: we’ve just released more Storyline 360 media library features that will further improve your authoring experience. You can now organize and find media library assets easily by renaming them and adding notes. We’ve also added the ability to include closed captions on all your videos and alt text on all your images right from within the library. These features will make asset management even faster and easier than before!

To access the Storyline 360 media library, you’ll first navigate to the view tab on the Storyline 360 ribbon, then click the media library icon.

The Storyline 360 media library manages all your project assets in one location.

Let’s dig a little deeper into each feature.

Rename Assets

You can rename assets in the media library so they’re more organized and easily searchable. When you rename an asset, it updates the name of the asset on the timeline throughout your project.

For example, let’s say you’ve inserted an image from Content Library 360 on a slide and its default name is “office photo 1”. You might want to change that to “Background Image - Office Hallway” so the name is clearer and more descriptive.

Add Notes

In addition to renaming your assets, you can now add private notes to your assets so they're easier to find and use. This is where you can include keywords, important details, design instructions, and more.

For example, you might leave a note for the abovementioned image that says “Use this image as a background for all slides in lesson 3” or perhaps a note for a character that reads “Use this thumbs-up pose for all correct feedback layers.” The notes will help you remember where and why to use specific assets.

Manage Alt Text

We’ve made it easy for you to add alternate text to assets in your project right from within the Storyline 360 media library. The purpose of alt text is to make your course more accessible; it describes any visuals to visitors who are unable to see them, such as people who are sight-impaired.

You can easily add alt text to one asset in the Storyline 360 media library and, with just one click, apply it to all uses of that asset throughout the project.

Edit Closed Captions

You can now see at a glance which audio and video clips have closed captions and which don’t. Launch the closed captions editor right from within the library to make changes or updates to existing captions. It’s quick and streamlines how you edit and update all your captions.
