One of my favorite things about Adobe's software suite (as an example), and what really set them apart from other programs for years, was how well they integrated keyboard shortcuts throughout the suite of programs, and how specific they are. There is a shortcut for almost anything and everything - sorta. After Effects is a great example; you can navigate across a video, add a layer, edit an asset, or do an almost infinite number of things simply using keyboard shortcuts. All of which are great time-savers. I would love to see more keyboard shortcuts integrated more across Storyline 360! Here are some rough examples of what I mean: CTRL + ] Go Forward a Slide (In Editor) CTRL + [ Go Back a Slide (In Editor) CTRL + " Go up a Layer (In Editor) CTRL + ' Go Down a Layer (In Editor) CTRL + / Go Forward One State (In/Open 'States' View) CTRL + . Go Back One State (In/Open 'States' View) CTRL + R + P Replace Picture From File (if applicable) CTRL + S + P Size and Position Properties (if applicable) Shift + ] Go to Beginning of Timeline (in Editor) Shift + [ Go to End of Timeline (in Editor) Then having a library of these keyboard shortcuts that users could refer to would make for the ultimate cherry on top. I'm a fiend for keyboard shortcuts, and combining keyboard shortcuts with hotkeys makes for a lightspeed workflow. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? What shortcuts would you like added?27Views1like1CommentRequest: 'Clickthrough' Option for Images
When using transparent .PNG overlays, such as to create layered looks, depth, shadows, or to incorporate template-based assets developed outside of Storyline, the entire image currently makes anything underneath it unclickable, including large transparent spaces. This limitation reduces the creative freedom within Storyline. If the image could be designated as "click-through," it would greatly enhance our ability to design more complex and interactive slides. Even just a simple checkbox labeled "Click-Through" could be added under "Picture Tools - Format" or perhaps under the "Animations" tab, as it relates to interactivity, and then could apply across all assets; images, shapes, and videos. While there are workarounds—like extensive cropping, layering, or using hotspots over the overlay image and having them trigger the layers underneath—these are often tedious and time-consuming. A "Click-Through" option would provide a much simpler and more elegant solution, empowering users to build more sophisticated and interactive content with ease. As an avid-fulltime-user who likes to push the program to its limits, I'm just trying to throw things at the wall and see what sticks sometimes. Let me know if that sounds like a decent idea, how you might you use, how it could be made even better, or if there's any potential of it making it onto the features roadmap!31Views0likes1Comment
