Meet Your Instructor - Which One Is the Lie?
I built this quick “Meet Your Instructor” interaction for the latest eLearning Heroes challenge. The interaction is a simple truth-or-lie icebreaker where learners review three statements about the instructor and decide which one is false. I designed it with a heavy equipment/construction theme and included custom visuals, themed buttons, correct/incorrect feedback screens, and a short video introduction and conclusion featuring me as the instructor. What I like about this concept is that it could work both virtually and in person. In an eLearning course, learners can click through and make their own choice. In a live class, a facilitator could use the same interaction as a quick group icebreaker before moving into the session. It’s a small activity, but it adds some personality, gives learners a reason to engage right away, and helps make the instructor feel a little more human before the course begins.Spin the Plate: An Oktoberfest Beer Pairing Adventure
For this week’s challenge, I built a short Rise course that teaches first-time Oktoberfest visitors which beer to order with classic Bavarian dishes. Learners meet Max, a local guide who walks them through the tent, explains the difference between lagers and ales, and then hands them the plate. They spin to see what Max is eating, discover the beer that pairs with it and why, and collect stamps in a Beer Passport. A short quiz at the end checks whether they can make the pairings on their own. Tools: Rise 360 (Timeline, Tabs, Flashcards, Knowledge Checks, Quiz), plus a custom HTML/JavaScript spinner embedded in the course. I designed the interaction and content and used Claude to help with the code and illustrations. This is my first Rise project, so I’d love any feedback, especially on the flow and the spinner interaction! 🍺 view the courseMunich Travel Guide: Where Should You Stay? 🇩🇪🥨
