Studio '13 not saving any interactions

Installed Articulate Studio '13 on my laptop in 2018.  Used it a couple of times for a project and all went well.  Now I am trying to create a project and am running into a problem - namely no interactions (quizzes nor engagements) will save to the PowerPoint deck I'm working on.  It creates a slide, but the slide is blank.  If I try to edit the engagement, there is nothing.  However, the engagements are being saved to my local hard drive. 

That means I can go directly into Engage '13 and see the interaction.  And if I try to add the same interaction to the PowerPoint (not create a new one), it acts like it is doing something, even adding a new blank slide, but nothing is there.  NADA.

The one thing that is odd is when I go to add an interaction, it sees it.  But if I immediately try to edit it after adding it to the presentation, it cannot find the file.  I have to browse to the file.

Everything is saved on my laptop.  And all files are in the project file.

Please help.
