I'm attempting to create a "Record Screen" Replay project but running into issues with audio. I want to record the audio from the source (my Storyline output) and not the external microphone built into my laptop. Is this possible?
I know this is an old thread but maybe someone could help me. Screen Recorded my Storyline file and it looks great but it is silent.
I imported the published mp3 audio files but I need 2 audio track lines. There is background music running as well as narration , The video is on track A, The music score is on track B how do I layer the narration in?
You might look at using a Virtual Audio Cable. This might also be a solution for people trying to record audio coming through the computer (record sound card).
I'm now on a Windows 10 Think Pad and no longer have the options I did before. I am investigating this for myself.
I wish there was a way in these discussion forums to promote a reply as the "correct answer" to the OP's question. Would have saved me a lot of pain in going through most of the thread to arrive at this solution, which works perfectly. Thanks, Owen!
Looks like you chose the 'Mark as Helpful' on that Reply, so that is the first step in designating :) Thanks Stephen. Glad you were able to find what you needed.
Jeff, I just recently had the same issue, and after reading through this thread, was able to add the Stereo Mix option to the recording devices in Articulate Replay. Had the same "Holy Moly" moment!
Enabling "Stereo Mix" is the winner for me! An added note - after enabling Stereo Mix, be sure to set its volume level to 0 from the mixer. I am not sure if this is unique to using a laptop, but when I enabled it, I got a electronic hissing/feedback sound. Thanks!
Great news Joanna! I appreciate you popping in to let us know that this thread is still helping out users and thanks for sharing that pro tip about the mixer.
Storyline recorded the video's audio perfectly internally without me doing anything BUT it also recorded all the noise in the room. How do I stop Storyline from recording what comes through the laptop's microphones?
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you ran into with your audio recording.
Did you follow the steps that users shared at the beginning of this conversation? I'm curious if the audio from the computer was recorded through the microphone, which is why it picked up other sounds as well.
I'd be interested to hear from others in the community working on a similar setup as well.
Hi, all I did was run the video! I just happened to have the earbuds with mic plugged in when I did this, so there was no external sound of the video, it only recorded the internal sound perfectly (but with my typing and chair squeaking). Maybe others are having an issue because, like me, the laptop is picking up external noise, but in this case it's the outside/speaker sound of the video, which I can image would be distorted and slightly out of sync with the internal track also being laid down.
After some googling, I went to Settings/Sounds/Recording and disabled the microphone, played the video and recorded it in Storyline, and the sound was absolutely perfect.
Thanks for sharing your solution, Michael! By the way, when you reply via email, it includes your email signature with contact information. You can edit it out of the discussion here!
I have just read a bunch of recent threads that point to this one as having the answer to recording system sound. Has there not been an update to this in the last 7 years? I would love to just tell Replay to record system sound.

No worries Kirk :) We just like to be sure that users are aware. We don't mind.

Hi Niomi!
Replay uses two tracks. You can have audio on one or both of them, but you will not be able to add an additional track.

*Update*
I purchased the "cables" (donation ware) and a mixer and am loving the solution.

Agree. This is ridiculous.
Hi, Patricia.
Take a look at the article below, as it might help you achieve what you're looking to do:
Thanks
This article helps with Peek, but it's doesn't work with Replay.
I am still looking for a solution.
