I've been using Articulate Storyline for several months now and all of a sudden tonight I received a message stating my free trial is over. When I tried to activate with my serial number, the software won't accept it.
I'm including snapshots of the issue in Powerpoint.
I saw that error before after I upgraded my system to Windows 8.1 - and you'll see it's detailed here as well. Even if you did not conduct that upgrade, it may be worth running through the following steps:
Close Storyline.
Go to the Start menu, and search for Storyline.
Right-click Articulate Storyline and select Run as administrator.
You may be prompted by User Account Control with the following message: "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" Program name: Articulate Storyline. Click Yes.

I've had that message before and I had entered the Serial Number incorrectly — watch for a space at the end of the string you have entered...

Have you recently upgraded Windows? That looks like an error that we have seen before. Check out this article.
