Assessment Retry Functionality Incorrectly Showing Previously Correct Questions
Feb 11, 2021
We have a 20 question assessment built in Storyline 360. The results page has both system generated review and retry buttons. Both are set at the trigger level to show learners only the questions that they got wrong. The review works correctly, and only shows the incorrect questions. The retry does not work correctly. When you click retry, it does take you back to the first question that you got incorrect. However, it then shows you every question after that point (both right and wrong). If the question was incorrect it is blank and has to be answered again. If the question was correct, it shows you your previous answer and is locked so you cannot answer it again, but still have to click submit to advance to the next question. We would like for it to show just the incorrect questions. Each question slide is set to automatically decide when revisiting. Any ideas why the retry functionality is acting so strange? Thank you!

Hi, Briana, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨
That is definitely a strange behavior, as it sounds like you followed all the correct steps to get the retry button to only show the incorrect questions:
I would like to have our team look at your file. Would you feel comfortable sharing your .story file publicly here or privately with our support engineers so we can help troubleshoot?
Looking forward to hearing back!
Hi Maria! Thank you for your reply. We're working to see if we can get permission to share the file with engineering.
This is happening to me as well. I don't want the user to only review incorrect question, I want them to review all of them if they choose. Unfortunately, the 'correct' and 'incorrect' layers at the bottom of the screen don't match. The user can get all the questions correct and each review screen shows incorrect.
Hi Becky,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing within your project as well.
Are your slide properties set to 'Reset to Initial State'? That would cause the incorrect layer to slow up during the Quiz Review. I'd recommend setting this to 'Automatically Decide'.
Let me know if that works better for you.
Leslie, I'm also encountering another issue- this time with scoring. We have a pre-test set up, (when we used Presenter 360, this worked for us) that has a 0% passing score required. What we are trying to achieve is that the student takes the pretest, gets one attempt, receives no feedback in the quiz, but the LMS still scores the pre-test. Our LMS isn't tracking the score (at least in the gradebook). I have a feeling the 0% is the issue in Storyline? Any thoughts?
Hi Becky,
Thank you for sharing your additional question/issue.
