I translated English course into Chinese, but some of the Chinese characters appear to be in bold. Any solution to fix this? Attaching a screenshot of the issue.
Thanks for reaching out. We've also seen that some text or characters are showing up as bold after translating content into Chinese in Storyline 360. Is that the version of Storyline you are using?
I'm really glad you brought this up, since it's helpful for us to know how many people this bug is affecting.
I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue. Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry if it’s slowing you down.
I have the same issue - some bold and some showed in another Chinese font; however, I don't have SimHei font in PC. Is there any other font to fix this issue? I am using SL3.
I'm sorry you're coming up against this issue too. I took a look and it seems that it's still with our team for investigation. We'll keep you posted here if there are any other changes or update.
Perhaps Nandita can share where the SimHei font is available?
Hi, I'm also having a problem with Chinese characters. From time to time, the published file displays the character as special characters or symbols. Need your help guys. :)
Good news! We fixed the issue you reported where some text or characters were showing up as bold when previewed or published after translating content to the Chinese language.
Install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes. Here's how.
If the problem happens again, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I'll be happy to help!

Hi Alyssa,
Yes, I am using Storyline 360. I tried in Storyline 2 as well since I had both the versions. It is the same in SL 2 as well.
Let me know if you have a resolution to this.
Thanks,
Nandita
Thanks, Nandita. We'll update this thread once we receive more information!
Hi Alyssa,
I found a workaround for this problem so thought I will post an update here.
If I change the font type to SimHei from Calibri for only the Chinese text, I am not seeing this issue anymore.
Regards,
Nandita
Thanks for sharing that information, Nandita! I'll add that to our documentation.

Hi there! So glad I found this thread. We are experiencing the same issue. Is there any progress on a fix? I'll try to workaround . . .
Hello David,
We use Arial Unicode MS instead of SimHei font to develop Chinese/Japanese courses. So far so good.
Hi David,
No updates yet, but as Yolanda mentioned, using the SimHei font is one of the other workarounds our team noted as well.
We'll let folks know here as soon as we have an update!
Ashley, we use Arial Unicode MS (not SimHei font) as the workaround.
Ah, sorry for misreading that Yolanda. Our team has noted that the SimHei font also works - have you seen differently?
Because we don't have SimHei font, I am sorry that I can't tell the result.
No worries, Yolando. As long as you have a font that works for you!

Mark, you can try several things as below.
1. Use the latest storyline version (https://articulate.com/support/article/Storyline-3-Version-History)
2. The computer machine should have been installed the font you used
3. Change to "every time I visit the webpage".
