Hi Kevin - use the insert video from website option and paste the code in the box where is says to insert a video link.
Ok, I had partial success.
1. It doesn't load the pieces in the center.
2. I would like to remove the blue box / outline "create your puzzle at flash-gear.com".
3. When I publish it to the web the slide is blank. The image below is from the video preview and shows the pieces which you would drag to create the puzzle.
Any suggestions. The code remains the same as above.
Hey, Kevin -
I'm guessing you won't be able to remove the blue square. Seems like their advertising for creating a puzzle. Sounds like you might be publishing and running from a local drive? The Flash Player Security Settings prevent local Flash media from interacting with the browser. The overlay is called from JavaScript.
Three ways to fix this:
1. Publish to CD for your local tests. The wrapper bypasses the Flash security settings restriction.
2. Publish to HTML and upload to a Web host.
3. Hit this link and add your publish folder to the allowed list. http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html
I'm not familiar with the tool so I have no guess as to why the pieces don't load in the center.
where is the vedio link??
Ah, looks like the blue box is in part of the embed code. If you just embed this part:
Should fix it
Bah. Just embed the EMBED element. All of the other stuff isn't necessary to embed the Flash piece. Looks like it centers OK as well for me.
Click the Insert tab in the top menu - then click the little down arrow under the Video option and select Video from website
Hi Kevin, Steve beat me too this but there is a bunch of extra lines in the html code that is throwing off the centering and causing the blue box to appear.
For example, the code in the html is causing the puzzle to center in the middle of the storyline page - it does not know there is a menu.
Has anyone come up with a solution for embedding a widget or other html code into Storyline? I've tried the insert video (with non-video code) and the web object with no luck so far. I know I could just link a picture but it's not the same.
I'm having the same dilemma as Amanda. I'd like to enter a google search for specific content e.g.
[ Google">http://www.google.com/search?q=Google+tutorial+create+link”>Google tutorial create link ]
Is there a way to accomplish this?
@ Amanda - not sure what you mean by widget (are you referring to a Captivate Widget?) but if you give us an example of what you are trying to insert I am sure we can figure out a way to help you.
@Fran - you can insert the this as a web object.
Click Insert>Web Object and then past the URL in the address field. (note make sure the url is correct. I don't think the one you show in your post will work. It is best to do the search in your browser and then copy and past the address that displays for the results.
There are some security issues with launching the search results. I don't think Google will let you launch the page in an iframe so you have to specify that it display in a new browser window as shown in the example. You may also have some issues when testing locally (popup blockers will block the page for example) so it is best to test this on a web server.
Hello everyone!
I am pretty new to Storyline, I hope you all can help me. I am trying to embed something I found on wikipedia that will be great for my class. It says, Storyline cannot insert video from this embed code. Any ideas? Thanks!
This is the code:
<p><a href="http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:LS-usgs.gif#mediaviewer/File:LS-usgs.gif"><img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3d/LS-usgs.gif" alt="LS-usgs.gif"></a><br>"<a href="http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:LS-usgs.gif#mediaviewer/File:LS-usgs.gif">LS-usgs</a>" by USGS - <a rel="nofollow" class="external free" href="http://elnino.usgs.gov/landslides-sfbay/photos.html">http://elnino.usgs.gov/landslides-sfbay/photos.html</a>. Hi Al -
Hit this link:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3d/LS-usgs.gif
Right-click and save as. Then import the image into Storyline. Animated GIFs are supported by Storyline.
Thanks Steve,
That is so cool that you helped me so quick. I will pay it forward as my knowledge grows!!
Hi Al! Glad that you were able to get the assistance that you needed here.
I just wanted to pop in to let you know that responding to the forums via e-mail also includes your signature, and you are welcome to pop in here and edit that if needed :)
Hi there,
So I am trying to embed html with javascript and css files. It does not appear to play when embedded.
Thoughts ?
I have attached the files below.
The HTML code of the index page includes links to a bunch of external JS libraries, eg. '../../extras/jquery.min.1.7.js' that I don't see in the zip file you sent. That's probably the issue
I think you're right Mike.
Looking again, the files in the folder above are called, my mistake.
Thanks for finding the error of my ways.
Mark
Glad Michael was able to help you out here!
I'm trying a similar task: Embed what would otherwise be a web object into the slide as a video. The code is below. There's a long sorted reason why I can't just use a web object. Is there anyway to get Storyline to accept this?
<a name="form1350628695" id="formAnchor1350628695"></a>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://fs30.formsite.com/include/form/embedManager.js?1350628695"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
EmbedManager.embed({
key: "https://fs30.formsite.com/res/showFormEmbed?EParam=iGs2D6QRb6IoTAbwiZJ0It1WO5TBXPkYd0EdsE%2B2w%2BE%3D&1350628695",
prePopulate: { "3":"Course Name", "4":"Passed","5":"90"},
width: "100%",
mobileResponsive: true
});
</script>
Hi Alicia,
I don't know the specifics of anything like this - but there are a few older threads that may be able to offer you assistance. Here is one to get you started.
