How can I share?
Feb 11, 2015
This is probably a very simple question, but I just can't figure it out. I'd like to share some of my work but I don't know where to upload my files to link the "story.html" file. I've noticed that some people use Drop Box and I have an account, but when I try to upload all the files and open the "story.html" file, it doesn't work for me.
Can someone make this really simple for me :)?

Hi Kerri
I upload the published folder to Dropbox > Public folder. Then right click on the story.html and select 'copy public link' and then share that in an email. Just need to make sure all the files have sync'd to dropbox before you share the link.
The other option - if you got gmail account - is to use Google drive to share your SL output. Here's how to do it.
Hi Kerri,
If you're just sharing for a test and not as the final output or hosting solution, you could also use Tempshare. You'll want to zip the published for web output, and then you can drag the zipped folder into the section for upload and done! It'll generate a link that you can share with others and it'll expire in 10 days.
After much trail and error I was able to make the Google Drive option work. I kept getting a window of code when I'd try the link but the trick that worked was downloading Google Drive to my computer and publishing the files directly to the drive. For some reason it wouldn't work when I'd upload them to the drive on the web.
Thanks Joanna for this idea. I'm so exicted to share!!
Ashley and Kerri - I'm having the same issue as Kerri did. I tried the same things but it still won't work. I've also tried the same thing on dropbox. Any other thoughts on how to get it to work? Thank you.
Hi John!
Did you try the Tempshare option that Ashley shared above?
Leslie - Thanks. The Tempshare option worked. I found out you have to have a paid dropbox account for it to work. I'm still not sure why I can't get it to work on Google drive, but maybe it's for the same reason.
Hi John,
I have not yet tried Tempshare (maybe I will at some point), but I had luck using Google Drive with these instructions:

It did take me a few tries. I think it's a little temperamental about how you upload the files so it can be stressful if you're up against a deadline to share something. Maybe it just takes practice.
I'm glad you had success!

Thanks for sharing Kerri!
Leslie - I finally figured out what the problem was with sharing it on Google Drive. I believe the directions are slightly wrong in the post in the first bullet under step 5. https://community.articulate.com/articles/how-to-share-your-e-learning-course-for-free-with-google-drive The trick for me was renaming the story_HTML5 file to index, not the story html file.
Not what we would expect, but thanks for sharing John.
