Upgrade to Storyline 3 or Storyline 360 for new business?

Jan 27, 2018

I currently have Storyline 1 and am wanting to upgrade to either Storyline 3 or Storyline 360 to start an eLearning materials development business. I like the idea that I would own Storyline 3 without needing to renew annually, but want to know if the benefit of online resources is superior enough for a new business to take on an annual expense.

I would like to ask business owners that are using Storyline for their feedback on Storyline 3 & Storyline 360:

1. What do you like best about the product you use (please include which product you use)?

2. What do you find the most limiting of the product you use?

3. What work-arounds have you discovered for the limitations you have encountered?

Thank you!

Hi Linda,

This discussion might give you a bit of information to help with your decision. And this list will show you what you get with 360 that you don't get with 3. If you are starting a development business you may find that integration with Articulate Review helps with the stakeholder review process. I also find Rise (which comes with a 360 subscription) is a great product for clients that are looking for rapid, low budget development. It has it's restrictions but it looks excellent and works really well across multiple platforms. You can create great looking content in a number of hours.

Hi Linda,

I hope those resources Louise offered help you out!

If you want to talk through your specific needs with our Sales team, they'd be more than happy too! We don't want to sell you something you don't need, so they can walk you through features of Storyline 3 and Articulate 360 to help figure out which best fits your needs. You can reach out to them here.

I also enjoy this article specific to the tools in Articulate 360, and why you may use them.

Let us know if you need anything else!
