Numeric Input Entry Issue
Jul 03, 2019
Hello,
I am facing issue in numeric entry field of graded question. Whenever i have typed the correct answer its still showing me incorrect in result screen even though in form view i have entered the correct value. (Note: Its only happening when i used the correct answer as 6 digits and 2 decimals number after dot/period.) I have attached the sample storyline file for review.
Could anyone help me with that.
Regards,
Arsalan

Hi, I can see the issue is the dot - when you remove it, it works fine. But I am not sure how to get a numeric variable to recognise a dot in an answer. Maybe Matthew Bibby can assist - he is the variable guru https://community.articulate.com/users/MatthewBibby
This is really odd storyline is validating the number incorrectly.
Try setting the initial variable value to 123456.12 and it displays as 123456.117
Now instead of the correct answer type in 123456.117 and you will get the correct answer.
Looks like an internal bug with the way numbers are handled.

So any fixes on this issue?
I have no idea for a work around, Storyline will normally round numbers to 2 decimal places so any trigger/javascript fix will likely not work, you probably need to raise a support case for this.
Thanks Phil...
I have raised a support case for this.
Hi, try the attached story - it seems to work fine. I set this up in a different way.
A text entry would work
I know text entry will work, however i want user to type only numbers.
Thanks for reaching out to the support team, Arsalan. I can see that Vevette was able to pop in and assist you and our team is digging into this a bit more.

Thanks Leslie..
Awaiting a fix for this issue as soon as possible..
Hi Everyone,
I am happy to share that we just released the newest version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.36.21213.0) this morning! With this release, we fixed the numeric-entry questions that are evaluated incorrectly, even when learners entered the right answer.
The next step is to update Storyline 360 by heading to your Articulate 360 desktop app and clicking "Update" next to Storyline 360.
As always, we are happy to answer any questions you have by posting in this discussion, or you can contact our Support Engineers directly here.
