Properties bug

May 09, 2019

Hey everyone. I've been encountering an issue on the base properties feature. I wanted to only include the "Resources" tab on a few slides so I was going to the player dropdown and choosing "Custom for the selected slides" and would unclick the "Resources" box and go to the next slide and do the same. If I go back to the previous slide I un-checked, the "Menu, Resources, and Notes" boxes would all be un-checked even though all I un-checked was "Resources." Hope this makes sense and that maybe someone can shed some light on this issue. I added an image of the properties box I'm and talking about. Thanks!

Hey there, Joel! Let's take a closer look at what's going on.

I tried recreating this behavior in my own file, but so far I haven't had any luck.

Are you on the latest update of Storyline 360? To check, click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. You should see 3.27.18822.0 in the bottom-right corner.

Also, does this happen in any Storyline file, or just one in particular?

Yes, I have the most up to date version. It's weird, it only does in on certain slides. I'm wondering if I copied some weirdness over and when I duplicated a slide or two it carried over. I'll have to check my other files to see if I have that issue...I want to say it was, but the project I'm working on now is so large that it was more noticeable. I'll keep messing with it and keep you posted. Thanks for reaching out.

Just to let you know what I'm seeing on my end, Joel: With the modern player, I see only Menu and Resources checked when I change my slide properties to "Custom for selected slides." I had included Notes and Glossary, however. When I hit the "Reset" button, it selects all the player features I had enabled in the Player Properties.

From that point, when I uncheck just Resources and return to my slides, only Resources remains  unchecked. I do think it's worth us documenting that initially, the selections don't reflect what the player features are. Let me know if that sounds like the experience you're having also. Thanks!
