Closed Captioning

Closed captions are subtitles—text transcriptions or descriptions of visual and audio content.

In e-learning, closed captions are one way to make learning content more accessible for differently abled workers, such as folks who cannot hear or access audio. It can also be helpful for localizing content into different languages.

Depending on where you live, closed captioning of learning content may also be required by governmental or organizational compliance standards (e.g., Section 508 in the US).
