Storyline 360

Slide Development

Enhanced Timeline Management

Create slides faster with these time-saving upgrades to the timeline.

  • Multi-select objects and move them all at once.
  • Choose where pasted objects appear in the stacking order or paste them into an existing group.
  • Align objects to the playhead or vice versa.
  • When the timeline is too long, instantly reset it to five seconds or shorten it to the object with the longest duration.

Timeline Scrubbing

Scrub the timeline to quickly see when timed elements appear and disappear on the stage without previewing the entire slide.

Timeline Animation Editing

View and adjust the duration of object animations right on the timeline.

Paste Special

Control what happens when copying and pasting objects. Keep or discard their source duration, start time, animations, and triggers. Learn more.

Print Slide Trigger

Let learners print individual slides, such as certificates, with a single trigger.

Conditional Trigger Enhancements

Define two actions for a single trigger instead of needing multiple triggers. Set up conditions to determine which action gets executed.

Toggle Hidden or Disabled State Trigger

Quickly toggle between an object’s current state and its hidden or disabled state. Learn more.

Quick Swap Variable References

Replace one variable reference with another, right from the context menu.

 

Accessibility

Focus Order Multi-Select

Customize the accessibility focus order faster. Select multiple objects, then move or remove them all at once.

Updated Accessible Video Controls

Ensure all learners can interact with videos thanks to accessible controls that match the modern player style, exceed color contrast guidelines, and communicate perfectly with screen readers. These controls let learners change the playback speed, switch to full-screen mode, and use picture-in-picture mode to move videos to a floating window.

Accessible Quiz Result Templates

Improve the accessibility of your assessments with new quiz result slides that have color and contrast accessibility included in the design.

Updated Scroll Bar Accessibility

Make your user interface more accessible automatically with scroll bars on slides, layers, and slide masters that meet color contrast guidelines.

Full-Screen Toggle

Allow learners to view courses in full-screen mode by adding this player toggle.

 

360° Images

Marker and Hotspot Labels Support Buttons

Add buttons to marker and hotspot labels in 360° images so learners can trigger specific actions, such as launching a website or downloading a document.

Exclude Markers and Hotspots from Progress Tracking

Exclude specific markers and hotspots from progress tracking in 360° images to capture more accurate results. Learn more.

Updated Title in Image Editor

Make navigating Storyline 360’s interface more intuitive with this update to the 360° image editor. The Media tab is now called Label to better reflect the context of the controls on the ribbon.

 

Quizzing

Combined Results Template

Combine multiple must-pass quizzes into a final result slide using this prebuilt, accessible template.

Question Result Variable

Use the question result variable to trigger different quiz review feedback based on how learners answer.

Quiz Feedback Master Defaults

Set default slide layer properties—such as accessibility attributes—for feedback masters and layouts.

Assign Quiz Names

Assign unique names to your quiz result slides, making it easy to identify the corresponding built-in variables for each quiz.

Modal Dialog Layers

Change a slide layer to a modal dialog layer when you don’t want learners to interact with anything else in the course while the layer is open.

Report Weighting for Individual Quiz Questions

Share more quiz information with your LMS—Storyline 360 courses now report the points assigned to each quiz question (i.e., the weighting value) to LMSs for cmi5, SCORM 2004, SCORM 1.2, and AICC content.

SVG Replace Picture Option

Use the “replace picture” option on the SVG Tools tab to quickly swap one SVG in your project for a different one.

Saved Media Search Results

Pick up where your last search left off to find related images, videos, or icons on your next search. The Content Library 360 media browser now remembers your previous search results and the last asset you selected.

Enhanced Color Selector

Organize custom colors into different palettes using the color selector window. This window remains visible as you choose colors for an object. 

Feedback Theme Colors

Define theme colors for correct and incorrect quiz elements—such as icons and review banners—to keep your designs consistent.

New Chevron Icons

Choose from four new chevron icons for your buttons and markers.

New Info and Exit Icons for Buttons and Markers

Apply new info (i) and exit (x) icons to your buttons and markers.

Dynamic Variable Placeholders

See how your variables will look in your finished course while still in edit mode thanks to this new feature that displays the default values right on the slide stage. Learn more.

Notify learners when they lose their internet connection so they don’t lose their progress.

Object Timing Adjustments

Adjust object timing in minutes and seconds—instead of converting values to seconds only.

Updated Default Course Title

Make naming your course file faster—Storyline 360 sets the default title for your course file to whatever text you place in the title placeholder on your first slide.

Simplified Naming of Published Content

Used to renaming your Storyline 360 project files after publication? Now that “Storyline output” is no longer added to the folder name you can skip that step, saving you time.

Rename and Reorder States

Rename and reorder object states so they’re easier to find.

Updated Publish Window

Hyperlinked properties on the Publish window are now blue to indicate they’re clickable.

End of Support for Internet Explorer 11 and Publish-to-CD

Following Microsoft’s lead, we ended support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11). And since the publish-to-CD option in Storyline 360 relied on IE11, we removed this publishing feature from our apps. Learn more.
